Who we are
Dunham HVAC provides heating, ventilation and air conditioning service to homes and businesses in the Inland Empire, Orange County and Southern California. This policy explains what information we collect through dunhamhvac.com, how we use it, who else handles it, and the choices you have. Our California contractor license number is #993612.
Questions about this policy: mark@dunhamhvac.com or (951) 312-5767.
What we collect
Your name, email, phone number and a description of the HVAC issue, plus anything else you choose to share, such as the property address, your business name or equipment details. This comes from calls, emails and the contact form.
When you press Send on the Contact page form, your name, email, phone number and message are emailed from this website to Dunham HVAC at mark@dunhamhvac.com and one other company inbox. The website itself doesn’t keep a copy. If sending fails, the page opens a draft in your own email app instead.
The Request a Quote page asks about your property type, the equipment and work you need, how soon, your name, phone number, street address or ZIP code, best time to call and, if you choose, your email and notes. It is emailed to Dunham HVAC the same way as the contact form and is used to call you with a quote. The website itself doesn’t keep a copy.
The city or ZIP code you type into the weather tools. If you tap “Use My Location” and allow it, your browser shares your location with the weather service for that search. We save your last weather location in your own browser, not on our servers.
Your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you request and when. Our website host collects this to deliver pages, keep the site running and protect it from misuse.
Our own simple counter records which page was opened, how long it stayed open, the site you came from, your device and browser type, and whether you tapped a call or email link. It uses no cookies, doesn’t store your IP address, and isn’t linked to your name or contact details. Details are in the Cookies section below.
Only if you choose to allow it and we have turned it on: which pages are viewed and which links are clicked. We never send what you type into a message to analytics.
Please keep your first message simple. A way to reach you and a short description of the problem is plenty. Don’t send card or bank details, passwords, alarm or door codes, government ID numbers or medical information.
How we use information
- To answer your question, understand the property or equipment, give you a quote and schedule work.
- If a request becomes a job, to carry out the work, keep service records, handle billing and warranty questions, and meet legal requirements.
- To run, secure and fix the website, and to show the weather you asked for.
- To see which pages and contact options are useful, using anonymous visit statistics and, only if you allow it, Google Analytics.
Contacting us does not sign you up for marketing emails, texts or calls, and we don’t record phone calls through this website. If we ever start a marketing program, we’ll tell you first and ask for any permission the law requires. A phone call, email or form on this site does not book an appointment or approve a price. We confirm those directly.
Who else handles information
We use outside services to run parts of the site. Each one only receives what its feature needs, and each has its own privacy policy.
Hosts the website and keeps ordinary security and request logs.
Carry the messages you send us, whether from the website form or from your own email app, including our email host and your own email provider.
Supplies the site’s typefaces. Your browser contacts Google to load them, which shares your IP address.
Open-Meteo, the National Weather Service and Zippopotam.us receive the city, ZIP code or coordinates you search for, along with normal connection information.
The live map on the Weather page loads from Windy when you scroll to it. Windy receives your IP address and the area shown on the map.
Our shop is run by Fourthwall. Product photos load from their servers, and checkout happens on their site under their terms and privacy policy.
Only if you allow optional analytics and we have turned it on. See Cookies & Privacy Choices.
If we ever link a Google-hosted contact or quote form, Google processes what you enter there under its own policies.
We do not sell your personal information, and we don’t share your contact details with advertisers. We may disclose information when the law requires it, to protect people or property, to get professional advice, or as part of a sale of the business, in each case only as the law allows.
Links to news stories, Google reviews, the California contractor license lookup and other outside sites lead to places we don’t control, and their privacy practices apply once you’re there.
Cookies, analytics and browser signals
Anonymous visit statistics. To understand how the site is used, we run a simple counter on our own hosting. When a page opens it records the page name, how long the page stayed open, the website you came from (such as Google), a rough device size (phone, tablet or computer), your browser and operating system, and whether you tapped a phone, email or contact link. To count visitors without identifying anyone, we turn your connection details into a short scrambled code that changes every day and can’t be reversed. We do not store your IP address, set cookies, record what you type or what is on your screen, or link these statistics to your name, phone number or email. Only people who manage this website can see the totals, and we keep them for up to 13 months. You can switch this off in , and it stays off automatically if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal.
Google Analytics. Off unless you turn it on, and nothing from Google loads before you say yes. We don’t use advertising or remarketing pixels today, and we don’t record sessions. If we ever add advertising tools, we’ll update this page and ask for your permission first.
More detail is on the Cookies & Privacy Choices page.
How long we keep information and how we protect it
We keep inquiry emails and service records for as long as we need them to respond, perform and document work, handle warranty or billing questions and meet legal or accounting rules. There isn’t one fixed period for every record. Your saved privacy choice expires after 180 days, and your theme and weather preferences stay in your browser until you change or clear them.
We use reasonable safeguards, but no website or email system is perfectly secure, which is another reason to keep first messages free of sensitive details. If you sent something sensitive by mistake, tell us and we’ll help.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to tell you what information we have about you, give you a copy, correct it or delete it. You can also change your privacy settings at any time or clear your browser data. To make a request, email mark@dunhamhvac.com with the subject “Privacy Request” or call (951) 312-5767. Tell us which inquiry or contact details are involved, and please don’t send ID numbers, payment details or passwords with your request.
California residents. California law may give you the right to know and access personal information, to delete or correct it, to opt out of its sale or sharing for advertising, to limit certain uses of sensitive information, and to be treated the same whether or not you use these rights. We don’t sell personal information or share it for cross-context advertising. We may ask for a few details to confirm a request is really yours, and we’ll respond within the time the law requires. More information is available from the California Attorney General.
Withdrawing analytics permission stops future analytics. It doesn’t erase information already sent to us or to a service provider, so use the request process above if you want something deleted.
Children
This website is for adults and business representatives and isn’t meant to collect information from children under 13. If a child has sent us information, contact us and we’ll remove it.
Changes to this policy
When we change this policy we’ll post the new version here with an updated date. If we add a new kind of tracking or a new use of your information, we’ll update this page and our privacy controls before it starts, and we’ll ask for permission where the law requires it.
